Azerbaijan, Pakistan mull expanding healthcare cooperation
Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev has discussed expanding healthcare cooperation with Qasim Mohiuddin, Ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Musayev extended his congratulations to Qasim Mohiuddin on his new role as Ambassador of Pakistan, Caliber.Az reports.
Musayev highlighted the deep historical roots of the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and praised the exemplary cooperation between the two brotherly countries across all sectors. He noted that high-level reciprocal visits have significantly expanded ties between the nations.
Regarding healthcare cooperation, Musayev noted that Azerbaijan's collaboration with international organisations such as the World Health Organisation, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement is progressing well. He also highlighted the dynamic growth in bilateral cooperation in medical education, citing the active partnership between Baku State University and Riphah International University. A notable example of this cooperation was the international medical education conference held in Baku in October, 2023 which brought together specialists from all over the world.
Ambassador Mohiuddin highlighted Azerbaijan's unique significance to Pakistanis and mentioned that a number of Pakistanis are presently studying at Baku State University.
The meeting ended with talks about new opportunities for enhancing and broadening collaboration in healthcare and medical sciences, along with discussions on other shared interests.
