Azerbaijan ranks strongest military in South Caucasus

Global Firepower (GFP), a website that provides data on and ranks national militaries around the world, put Azerbaijan in the 57th spot among 145 countries in terms of military power in its recent rankings.

Azerbaijan's regional neighbours Georgia and Armenia rank 85 and 94, respectively, Caliber.Az reports.

The rankings are based on 60 individual factors that determine the indicator of a particular country.

The quantitative indicators and the power of aviation, armoured vehicles, naval forces and more are taken into account. In addition, the availability of natural resources, labour, transport and logistics capabilities of the state are also considered by GFP. An important focus is put on the size of the military budget, external debt, foreign exchange reserves of a country, as well as its purchasing power.

Meanwhile, in the 2022 rankings, Azerbaijan came in at number 63.
