Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister hails EFES-2024 exercise held in Türkiye PHOTO

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has met with a delegation led by the Chief of the Main Intelligence Department of the Armed Forces of the Türkiye, Colonel General Ismail Günaydın, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.

Minister Hasanov emphasized that sincere relations between the two countries’ presidents have a positive impact on the sphere of military cooperation as on other spheres, Caliber.Az reports citing Azerbaijan's ministry of defence.

Recalling his visit to Türkiye on May 29-30 this year at the invitation of the Minister of National Defence of Yaşar Güler, Minister Hasanov commended the organization of the EFES-2024 multinational exercise in Türkiye and servicemen’s professionalism.

Colonel General Günaydın highlighted that the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are based on mutual trust and support.

The meeting discussed the current state of and prospects for the development of cooperation in the military and military-educational spheres, as well as emphasized the importance of events held on the margins of the Azerbaijani-Turkish High-Level Military Dialogue Meeting.

Then the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev met with the Turkish delegation.

The sides hailed the current state of bilateral military cooperation between the two countries, underlining the importance of such meetings in terms of expanding mutual cooperation.

The officials also exchanged views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
