Azerbaijan seizes $6 billion worth of Armenian weapons Former Armenian deputy defense minister says
Former Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Artak Zakaryan has said that Azerbaijan seized $6 billion worth of Armenian weapons.
"Today in the current situation, France has its own interests. And I will say sincerely, I don't believe that French weapons will have any significant significance for the improvement of Armenia's defence capability and combat efficiency," Zakaryan said during an interview with Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.
"As far as I know, they bought only armoured personnel carriers. Also in the future they plan to receive, GM200 radar systems, and later also Mistral surface-to-air missile systems, but it is not clear when it will be and whether it will be at all. This is a rather delicate and serious political issue here.
Apart from that, I don't know, no matter how much I've looked, no matter how much I've read, but I haven't seen any sources that these French weapons would justify themselves in combat operations in any war. Yes, there is information that it has been handed over to Ukraine, but there is no data as to how effective and useful they are.
Current events in today's world are such that no country can guarantee or promise the security of any country. That is why France does not give us security promises and guarantees and neither does the EU nor the US. It does not give to us, nor to Georgia, nor to Azerbaijan. Besides, it is not a secret that during the 44-day war, Azerbaijan seized 4.5 billion dollars worth of Armenian weapons and during the recent operation in Karabakh 1.5 billion dollars," Zakaryan said.
