Azerbaijan to drill artesian, subartesian wells in Jabrayil
Groundwater will be used in Jabrayil City, the centre of the Azerbaijani district of the same name, for which artesian and subartesian wells will be drilled.
“The specialists of Azersu company have already prepared a project for water supply to Jabrayil,” a spokesman of Azersu company Anar Jabrayilli told Caliber.Az.
“A project for a new water collection and distribution system has been prepared. In the next stage, a project will be implemented to provide three villages in the Jabrayil district with drinking water. The work is planned to be carried out to restore the artesian wells and underground hydraulic system that once existed in the area in the future. At the moment, there are no problems with providing military personnel serving in Jabrayil city with drinking water,” he added.
October 4 marks the first anniversary of the liberation of Jabrayil region along with a number of other villages from the Armenian occupation in 2020.
As a response to the Armenian provocation, on September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani army launched a counter-offensive operation and destroyed the defence cordon and fortifications of the Armenian armed forces on the Azerbaijani territory.
On October 4, 2020, President Ilham Aliyev announced the liberation of Jabrayil city along with Karhulu, Shukurbayli, Yukhari Maralyan, Charakan, Dashkasan, Horovlu, Mahmudlu, Jafarabad and Dejal villages of the region from the 30-year Armenian occupation.
