Azerbaijan welcomes 30 more Ukrainian children for vital rehabilitation support
In a continued effort to assist children impacted by the war in Ukraine, another group of 30 Ukrainian children has arrived in Azerbaijan for rehabilitation.
This initiative is part of a project aimed at providing support and care to those affected by the conflict.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection told Caliber.Az that these children will participate in a 10-day rehabilitation program at the Gabala Children's Rehabilitation Centre, operated by the State Agency for Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation. During their stay, the children will receive comprehensive medical, social, and psychological rehabilitation services.
The previous group benefited from various therapeutic activities, including individual consultations with professional psychologists, group therapy sessions, as well as yoga and dance therapy classes. The rehabilitation program focuses on stabilizing the children's emotional well-being and facilitating their reintegration into society. To enrich their experience and familiarize them with Azerbaijani culture, excursions to museums in Sheki and Gabala have been organized.
The group which arrived earlier, welcomed by Azerbaijan, was housed in a camp situated in Baku, where national dance lessons and individual consultations with a professional psychologist were arranged for the children. They participated in all the rehabilitation and social activities outlined in the program. The children also had opportunities to explore Baku's attractions and historical landmarks, with trips to Gabala and Sheki organized for the same purpose.
To date, including this group and the previous six, over 200 Ukrainian children have visited Azerbaijan and benefited from socio-psychological rehabilitation services.
