Azerbaijani border guards detain Afghan citizen for illegal entry into country

On August 25, at 21:00, the coast guard of the State Border Guard Service detected a violation of Azerbaijan's state border in the Caspian Sea, as an unknown individual attempted to swim from Iran toward Astara District.

Following swift action, Afghan citizen Mahmud Khil Bilal, born in 1998, was apprehended. Investigative measures regarding the incident are ongoing, Caliber.Az reports per the State Border Service.
