Azerbaijani embassy in Kyiv suffers major damage in overnight Russian air strikes Photo
The Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyiv sustained significant damage during a large-scale overnight air strike carried out by Russian forces on November 14.
According to embassy officials, one of the missiles landed directly on the embassy grounds, causing a crack in the territory and extensive structural damage to the building, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Parts of the embassy’s outer wall were destroyed, windows were shattered, and several vehicles belonging to diplomatic staff were damaged. Ukrainian authorities arrived at the scene shortly after the attack to begin assessing the scale of the destruction.
This is not the first time the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Ukraine has been affected by strikes on the capital, though officials noted that the extent of the damage from this incident is considerably more severe than in previous cases. No embassy personnel were injured.
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that at least four civilians were killed and around 30 injured in the broader wave of attacks, which involved the use of approximately 20 ballistic and cruise missiles as well as more than 400 attack drones. Children were among the casualties.
Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Azerbaijani Embassy had been hit by fragments of an Iskander missile during the latest Russian assault.
