Azerbaijani film selected for competition programme in Türkiye
The feature film “Maryam”, directed by Azerbaijan's honored artist Elchin Musaoglu, will be showcased in the competition programme at the 60th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, scheduled to take place in Türkiye from October 5 to 15, 2024.
The film tells the touching story of a young woman who travels to Azerbaijan to meet her father, whom she believed to be dead for many years. Upon discovering a truth that dramatically changes her life, she is forced to reassess everything she thought she knew, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The film is a collaborative production by Azerbaijanfilm cinematography company, Turkish TRT TV channel, and Sinema evi studio, with support from the Azerbaijani Culture Ministry. The Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, one of Türkiye's most prestigious and biggest film festivals, highlights the best cinematic works from around the world.
The inclusion of the film in the competition programme underscores the international recognition of Azerbaijani cinema and promotes cultural exchange between nations.
