Azerbaijani FM hails historic summit of Organisation of Turkic States’ leaders
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said that the convening of the Organisation of Turkic States summit in Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha holds great historical importance.
“Azerbaijan prioritizes enhancing cooperation within the Organisation of Turkic States,” Bayramov told reporters, Caliber.Az reports citing the local media.
“A proposal initiated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called for an annual informal summit of the Organisation of Turkic States. The third such summit took place in Shusha, marking a significant occasion following the liberation of territories. The gathering of Organisation of Turkic States leaders in Shusha holds profound historical significance,” he added.
The summit of Organisation of Turkic States leaders held in Shusha, Azerbaijan, marked a significant event for the Turkic Council, an international organisation comprising Turkic-speaking countries.
The choice of Shusha as the venue for the summit underscored its symbolic importance in the context of Azerbaijan's cultural heritage and recent military successes. The summit aimed to strengthen solidarity among Turkic-speaking nations and deepen cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, and infrastructure development.
