Azerbaijani FM, OIC chief discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agenda
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had on April 18 a telephone conversation with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views took place on the existing opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OIC, on current issues and prospects for interaction, Report informs, citing the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
Minister Bayramov, speaking about the useful and fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the organization, noted that this cooperation is successfully continuing both on a bilateral basis and with international organizations. Referring to the successful organization of the joint events held, the sides spoke about the results of the 49th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC, held in Mauritania in March this year, as well as the decisions taken and further steps.
During the telephone conversation, Minister Bayramov also highlighted Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to eliminate the consequences of the former conflict in Karabakh, including strengthening peace and security in the region, as well as the provocations of Armenia, which, against amidst the positive steps taken by Azerbaijan exacerbate the situation.
It was emphasized that the OIC traditionally supports Azerbaijan's legal position based on international law, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
Minister Bayramov also invited representatives of friendly and fraternal countries represented in the OIC to take part in the reconstruction projects in the liberated Azerbaijani lands.
