Azerbaijani movie nominated for Oscar

The film by Azerbaijani director Shamil Aliyev has been included in the short list of nominees for the Oscar.

As told to Caliber.Az by the press service of the Union of Cinematographers of Azerbaijan, the documentary, dubbed "Yaradanlar" ("Creators'), dedicated to the memory of two prominent representatives of Azerbaijani architectural art Sadykh Dadashov and Mikayil Huseynov, tells about the study of the ruthless influence of the communist-Bolshevik ideology on the cultural heritage and way of thinking of Azerbaijan.

The author of the idea of the film is the Chairman of the Board of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan, Honoured Architect, Professor Elbey Gasimzade, while the script was written by the people's writer Natig Rasulzade, the production director is Shamil Aliyev, the director of photography is Rufat Suleymanov, the artist is Lala Huseynzade, the composer is Azer Askerov, and the producer is Nazim Huseynov.
