Baku launches COP29 Information Center to raise climate awareness PHOTO
A new milestone in climate education has been achieved with the inauguration of the COP29 Information Center in Baku.
The center aims to inform and engage the public ahead of the upcoming global climate conference scheduled for November 11 - 22 in Azerbaijan's capital, Caliber.Az reports.
The opening ceremony, held at Baku Boulevard with support from the Seaside Boulevard Department, was graced by high-profile figures including Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev, as well as Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Inger Andersen.
Attendees were introduced to the center's comprehensive array of activities, which include digital resources organized into thematic zones and interactive installations highlighting the impacts of climate change and the critical need for mitigation efforts.
