Blinken announces another round of talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia
The next meeting is expected to take place in a few weeks and will be hosted by our colleagues from the European Union, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said following meetings with Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministers Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan, according to Report.
"The closer we get, the closer you (Azerbaijani and Armenian sides - ed.) come to reaching an agreement. Thank you for the progress you have made and for your determination to continue this work in the weeks and months ahead," Blinken noted.
"I am grateful for the important and hard work that continues towards reaching a lasting peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as addressing a number of other important issues that can contribute to the development of relations between the countries," US Secretary of State said.
"We are moving towards achieving peace in the region. In line with this common goal, negotiations are continuing to include some additional clauses in the agreement, as well as to deepen positions on other unresolved issues. Negotiations will continue in order to reach a final agreement. It is expected that a general and final agreement will be reached in the coming weeks and months," Blinken added.
