CIS interparliamentary mission starts observation of Azerbaijani presidential election
The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Interparliamentary Assembly (IPA) mission has started monitoring the snap presidential election in Azerbaijan.
The observation mission, which includes deputies and senators from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, is headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Zhakip Asanov, Report informs.
Asanov first visited polling station No. 2 of Sabail District No. 7 constituency located at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan.
After opening the polling station at 08:00 (GMT+4), the head of the CIS IPA observer mission familiarized himself with the conditions here and asked questions to the head of the polling station.
Head of the polling station Suleyman Aliyev noted that all conditions have been created here for elections, emphasizing that both local and foreign observers have been visiting the polling station for several days already.
