The Danish-Azerbaijani Society “Veten” hosted an event titled "Victory" in Copenhagen to commemorate Azerbaijan's Victory Day on November 8.

Fuad Muradov, the Chairman of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs, expressed gratitude to the “Veten” society for organising the event in Denmark, emphasising the pride associated with celebrating Victory Day worldwide, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

During the event, a video was shown dedicated to Victory Day, featuring speeches from the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Accompanied by patriotic songs and national music, Azerbaijan's tricolour flag was raised, highlighting that the great victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War symbolises the Azerbaijani people's strength and is unparalleled.

Sevinj Orujova, Chair of the Public Union for the Support of Martyrs' Families “Zafar,” spoke about the heroism of the Azerbaijani army and the life journey of national hero Raguf Orujov, which led him to heroic heights. She shared her pride regarding Victory Day and underscored the support provided by First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to the families of martyrs.

“First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva always pays attention to the families of martyrs. I will never forget her meeting with the families of martyrs. After this meeting, I felt even stronger,” Orujova said.

The event also featured contributions from Narmin Khalilova, a board member of the Public Union for the Support of Martyrs' Families “Zafar,” esteemed Azerbaijani writer and honorary member of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers Eluja Ataly, and Turkish historian Bahadır Güler, who resides in Denmark.

The audience was delighted by a poem dedicated to the martyrs, recited by young compatriot Davud Gubatov, who was born and raised in Copenhagen, as well as a virtuosic performance by saz player Farhad Uğur.
