Deputy FM: Azerbaijan contributes to establishment of international peace, security PHOTO
On March 3-5, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov was on a working visit to India to participate in the Raisina Dialogue forum.
During the visit, Elnur Mammadov spoke at the forum, met with Vice-President of the Observer Research Foundation Think Tank Gautam Chikermane, Indian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Culture Menakshi Lekhi, and Secretary for Western Affairs of the Indian Foreign Ministry Sanjay Verma, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
During the meetings, an exchange of views took place on issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and India. The Deputy Minister informed the interlocutors about the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, Azerbaijan's efforts to ensure peace, etc.
Speaking at the forum, Mammadov noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan was represented for the first time on this platform, which has been held since 2016 in the city of New Delhi and where geopolitical and geo-economic challenges facing the international community are discussed.
He stressed that multilateral cooperation is more important than ever in the fight against global challenges in the period of transformation of the system of international relations. Elnur Mammadov stressed that Azerbaijan, as a responsible member of the international community, is always committed to the global development agenda and contributes to the establishment of international peace and security.
Having informed the forum participants in detail about the new realities that have developed in the region in the post-conflict period, about the current situation in the region, the Deputy Minister noted that Azerbaijan is carrying out large-scale restoration and construction work in the territories liberated from occupation. He stressed that despite the obstacles posed by Armenia, Azerbaijan is determined to advance the peace agenda.
