Distinguished Visitors Day held as part of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk-2023 drills

The Distinguished Visitors Day is being held on October 24 at the joint tactical exercise "Mustafa Kemal Ataturk-2023", involving servicemen of the Azerbaijani Army and the Turkish Armed Forces.

At the invitation of Azerbaijani Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Turkish National Defence Minister Yashar Guler, Tajik Defence Minister Colonel General Sherali Mirzo, Head of the Military Education Department of the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan Major General Jumabek Akhmetov, Deputy Defence Minister of Uzbekistan Colonel Kadyrjon Tursunov and delegations headed by them, as well as heads and representatives of Turkish defence industry companies are participating in the Distinguished Visitors Day, Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

The joint Azerbaijani-Turkish “Mustafa Kemal Ataturk-2023” exercises kicked off in Azerbaijan on October 23.

A total of up to 3,000 servicemen of various troops of both countries are involved in joint tactical exercises in various areas of Azerbaijan, including Baku, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the liberated territories. Some 130 armoured vehicles, up to 100 artillery weapons, more than 20 aircraft, engineering equipment and small boats are used.

The various tasks are fulfilled during exercises through modern combat methods to use artillery, aviation and other types of troops in combat operations, organise their interaction, build pontoon bridges across rivers and deploy land troops to attack the hypothetical enemy.

During the joint tactical exercises, special attention is paid to combat coherence in the interaction of troops, improving command and control, exchanging experience and increasing the professionalism of personnel.
