Drone strike causes blaze at industrial facility in Russia's Stavropol region
Russian air defence forces repelled a drone attack over the Budyonnovsky district of the Stavropol region, Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said.
He wrote on his Telegram channel that debris from the downed UAVs fell on the territory of an industrial zone, igniting a fire, Caliber.Az reports.
“According to preliminary information, there are no casualties, residential buildings were not damaged, and all essential services are operating normally,” Vladimirov wrote on his Telegram channel.
Emergency services are working at the scene, he added.
No updates on fire extinguishing efforts have yet been reported.
Since early 2025, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia has seen the emergence of a pronounced “infrastructure” drone offensive by Ukraine, targeting oil refineries, transport hubs and industrial sites deep inside Russian territory.
Ukrainian drones recently struck Russia’s largest refinery in the Saratov region, a facility owned by Rosneft.
At the same time, Russia continues to rely heavily on high-volume air-defence and drone launch capabilities, especially kamikaze-style and swarm systems, to strike at Ukrainian energy and civilian infrastructure.
