Dünya: Zangezur Corridor could turn Türkiye into Europe’s main logistics hub
The opening of the Zangezur Corridor could transform Türkiye into a global logistics hub, with large-scale warehouses supplying goods to the entire European market, the Turkish newspaper Dünya wrote, citing Ewald Raben, CEO of the Dutch logistics company Raben Group.
Raben told the paper that his company plans to expand its investments in warehouse facilities in Türkiye, emphasising that the potential launch of the corridor would fundamentally reshape the country’s role in global logistics, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
He noted that a major share of international cargo traffic, which currently relies heavily on sea routes, could be redirected through Türkiye once the corridor is operational.
According to Dünya, Raben believes that if Türkiye maintains its advantages in delivery time and cost, it could become a central warehousing hub serving the European market. He added that in such a scenario, the Raben Group would significantly increase its investments in Turkish storage infrastructure.
Raben also highlighted that the company aims to serve as a “window” for Turkish exporters seeking greater access to European markets. The Raben Group currently operates 170 warehouses across 17 countries, with revenues reaching €2.2 billion by the end of 2024.
