Azerbaijan’s trade with Turkic states falls 14% in early 2026
Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with members of the Organization of Turkic States totaled $1.032 billion in January–February 2026, marking a 14.4% decline compared with the same period last year, according to data from the State Customs Committee.
The largest share of trade was with Türkiye, which accounted for $877.1 million of the total. Bilateral trade with Ankara fell 12.6% year-on-year, including a 7% drop in Azerbaijani exports to $532.9 million and a 20% decline in imports to $344.2 million, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Trade with Kazakhstan reached $65.6 million, down 8.8% from a year earlier. Azerbaijani exports more than doubled to $24.3 million, while imports fell 30.9% to $41.3 million.
Turnover with Uzbekistan totaled $58.7 million, a 9.7% decrease year-on-year. Exports surged more than 3.5 times to $19.4 million, while imports dropped 34.1% to $39.2 million.
Trade with Kyrgyzstan rose sharply to $9.9 million, up 3.8 times compared with the same period last year. Exports increased tenfold to $8.7 million, while imports declined 34.5% to $1.2 million.
By contrast, turnover with Turkmenistan fell steeply by 76.3% to $11.9 million. Exports declined 42.9% to $3.8 million, and imports dropped 81.4% to $8.1 million.
Trade with Hungary, an observer in the Organization of Turkic States, amounted to $8.9 million, down 21.8% year-on-year. Imports decreased 27.9% to $7.4 million, while exports rose 34.8% to $1.5 million.
