EBRD to support modernisation of railway infrastructure in Azerbaijan PHOTO

Azerbaijan has discussed opportunities to expand cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), including priority projects on the modernisation of railway infrastructure with the financial support of the bank.

Chairman of the joint-stock company Rovshan Rustamov met with EBRD's chief banker on infrastructure Elena Gordeyeva, Caliber.Az reports with reference to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY).

Stressing the importance of the projects on the development of the non-oil sector and modernisation of transport infrastructure implemented with the financial support of the bank, the chairman noted the importance of the technical consulting project implemented with the support of the bank in 2017-2021 to optimise the power supply and energy efficiency of railroads.

The EBRD official, in turn, said that the bank is ready to finance ADY's infrastructure projects in the future.
