Erdoğan receives Azerbaijani prosecutor general in Ankara PHOTO
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on July 22 received Azerbaijani Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev at the presidential palace in Ankara, as part of a broader official visit aimed at strengthening legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries.
Also present at the meeting was Turkish Supreme Court Prosecutor General Muhsin Şentürk, who had formally invited the prosecutor general to Türkiye, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
During his Ankara trip, Aliyev held high-level meetings with several Turkish officials, including Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç and the President of the Supreme Court, Ömer Kerkez. Talks focused on enhancing legal collaboration, extradition processes, judicial training, and joint initiatives within regional and international platforms such as the Organisation of Turkic States and the International Association of Prosecutors.
Aliyev also met with Türkiye’s Chief Ombudsman Mehmet Akar to discuss human rights protection, legal education, and institutional cooperation. Both sides agreed to expand joint projects and deepen the exchange of experience.
The meetings were attended by Rashad Mammadov, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Türkiye.
As part of the visit, the prosecutor general also visited the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara, met with its staff and exchanged views on strengthening ties and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
