Erdoğan set to visit Kazakhstan on May 14 for high-level strategic talks
Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has confirmed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay a state visit to Kazakhstan on May 14, during a meeting with Turkish Vice-President Cevdet Yılmaz in Astana.
According to Akorda, Tokayev highlighted Türkiye's status as a strategic partner for Kazakhstan and underscored the steady development of bilateral relations over the past 35 years, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.
“As part of the visit, we will hold the next meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council and sign a number of new agreements,” the president emphasised.
Tokayev expressed confidence that the outcomes of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting held in Astana would further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Vice-President Yılmaz conveyed Turkish President Erdoğan’s warm regards and said Erdoğan places particular importance on the upcoming visit to Kazakhstan, as well as his participation in the informal CSTO summit in Turkestan.
The two sides also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in trade, energy, infrastructure, logistics, agriculture, education, and tourism, as well as exchanged views on regional and international issues, including developments in the Middle East.
Tokayev also praised Türkiye's role in supporting regional stability and confirmed his participation in the upcoming Antalya Diplomatic Forum.
