EU deports nearly 2,700 Georgian citizens in frst nine months of 2025
Between January and September 2025, European Union countries deported a total of 2,685 Georgian citizens back to Georgia, authorities reported.
Under the readmission agreement, the Georgian government refused to accept 11 of these individuals, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.
According to materials published on the website of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, the deported group included 1,560 men, 417 women, and 708 minors.
Germany carried out the largest number of returns, sending 1,448 Georgian citizens back home, followed by France (452), Ireland (243), Switzerland (102), and Greece (96).
The 11 individuals whose return was refused by Georgia were scheduled for deportation from Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, and France. The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not provide details regarding the reasons for the refusals.
