EU not to train, coach Armenian military - official says
Peter Stano, the official representative of the EU foreign policy service has said that the European Union does not intend to conduct military exercises with Yerevan and train Armenian servicemen.
"The EU is not considering holding joint military exercises with Armenia. The EU is not a military alliance, but a political and economic community," Stano told Izvestia.
He noted the EU also has no plans to train Armenian Armed Forces servicemen on the territory of the EU member states.
At the same time, he said, the EU is studying the possibility of supporting the Armenian army through the European Peace Foundation "in a non-lethal format", but there are no concrete decisions yet.
Earlier it was reported that the European Union will further study the possibility of supporting the Armenian Armed Forces within the framework of the European Peace Facility.
