European Union Mission in Armenia was not under attack Head of mission discloses Armenia‘s lie
Armenian Defence Ministry disseminated false information alleging Azerbaijani Army attacked the European Union Mission in Armenia last August.
Markus Ritter, Head of the European Union Mission in Armenia has disclosed the complete details of how the Armenian Defence Ministry manipulated and fabricated false information, Caliber.Az reports.
1/6 Dishonesty, manipulation, and fabricating facts undermine trust and confidence, particularly in sensitive post-conflict periods. Today, as the @ArmeniaMODTeam issues a statement refuting yesterday’s videos allegedly showing their armed forces moving towards pic.twitter.com/v0dTlT9Eer

He noted that Azerbaijani Army did not attack or fire the mission. There were shelling between Azerbaijani and Armenian sides.
“We never had been targeted or attacked by Azerbaijan. There was exchange of fire between Armenians and Azerbaijanis. We were not under attack. We had to report to Brussels that there was a shooting incident.“
He said that although they have not been under attack, the Armenian defence ministry spread disinformation on Azerbaijan‘s firing on the European Mission. The staff then received phone calls from Europe, embassies, various media agencies who were concerned over their security.
Armenia has repeatedly spread fake news trying to mislead the international community. Armenian Defence Ministry‘s heinous step aims to discredit Azerbaijan and undermine the country's reputation. Azerbaijan, unlike Armenia respects international law and never violates ceasefire. Azerbaijani Army only responds to the enemy's attacks.
