Explosion reported at Russian police college in Ingushetia
An explosion occurred in the early hours of June 26 at the North Caucasus Police College in the city of Nazran, the Russian republic of Ingushetia.
The incident was first reported by the Telegram channel SHOT, Caliber.Az reports.
According to preliminary information, the blast took place around 3:00 a.m. on the premises of the educational institution and is believed to have been caused by an improvised explosive device (IED).
The explosion, described as relatively low in intensity, reportedly damaged the pavement and an advertising banner. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no further damage has been confirmed at this time.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine how the explosive device was placed on the college grounds and whether any individuals were involved in orchestrating the incident. Law enforcement officials are expected to release more details as the inquiry progresses.
The blast in Nazran follows a series of recent explosive incidents across Russia. Just a day earlier, a jet ski exploded on the Angara River in Irkutsk. According to the regional division of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for transport, the 45-year-old driver of the watercraft sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Investigators believe the explosion was caused by a malfunction in the fuel supply system.
Additionally, a powerful car explosion involving a Zhiguli vehicle in Novorossiysk was recently caught on video, further raising public concern about safety and security in various parts of the country.
As of now, officials have not indicated any connection between these incidents, but security measures are expected to be tightened as investigations continue.
