France cancels Iranian AirTour flight to Paris without explanation
In a sudden and unexplained move, France has revoked permission for an Iranian AirTour flight scheduled to depart for Paris on January 31.
The cancellation has raised concerns, as no official reason has been provided by French authorities, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
Rezi Mousavi, CEO of AirTour, expressed frustration over the decision, describing it as "absurd."
Speaking publicly on the matter, he confirmed that the French air regulator had cancelled the flight without offering any explanation.
The unexpected withdrawal of the flight permission has left both the airline and its passengers in a state of uncertainty, with further clarification from French authorities still pending.
Earlier, Iran AirTour has announced plans to initiate direct flights between Tehran and Paris starting February 1, marking a significant development in the country's aviation sector amidst ongoing European Union sanctions on Iranian carriers.
Reza Mousavi, CEO of Iran AirTour, told the Iranian media that the new route would offer tickets priced at rates comparable to those of Iran Air, the country’s flagship carrier. The airline has allocated eight wide-body Airbus aircraft for its European operations, aiming to provide a seamless travel experience for passengers.
Mousavi also expressed optimism about expanding the airline’s reach to Germany, Spain, and Italy within the coming months, further strengthening Iran’s connectivity to Europe.
