Poland tightens employment entry rules for citizens of several countries
Poland has tightened entry rules for citizens of Georgia, Colombia and Venezuela seeking to work in the country, citing concerns over the misuse of visa-free travel arrangements.
The new measures do not affect visa-free entry for tourism and other permitted short-term visits. Citizens of the three countries who entered Poland before August 15 remain subject to the previous rules, Caliber.Az reports.
The Polish government said citizens from the three countries had been systematically using the visa-free regime to enter Poland for employment without meeting the legal requirements for working in the country.
Between January and June 2026, Poland deported 52 Georgian citizens, according to figures cited in reports. Across the European Union, 1,431 Georgian citizens were deported to Georgia during the same period.
The new restrictions specifically target those seeking employment, while visa-free travel for short-term purposes remains available.
