France welcomes the release of 17 Armenian PoWs by Azerbaijan

France is welcoming Azerbaijan’s handover of 17 Armenian prisoners of war to Armenia.  

The remarks came from the French Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Zacharie Gross, Caliber.Az reports.

According to Gross, Azerbaijan's releasing 17 Armenian detainees will contribute greatly to building trust amidst the important meetings being held in Prague today - on October 6.

The French diplomat further noted that this humanitarian gesture is worthy of appraisal.

The Presidents of Azerbaijan, Armenia, France, and the European Council are expected to hold a meeting in Prague on October 7 within the framework of the European Political Community. A possible peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan is expected to be on the meeting's agenda.
