Georgian PM praises excellent relations with Azerbaijan
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has praised Georgia’s strategic relationship with Azerbaijan, highlighting the depth of bilateral cooperation.
Speaking to Georgian journalists on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Kobakhidze also emphasised the importance of lasting peace in the South Caucasus, stating it is vital not only for Armenia and Azerbaijan but also for Georgia and the broader region, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Kobakhidze welcomed any progress toward peace between Baku and Yerevan. “We welcome any and all agreements between Azerbaijan and Armenia. If necessary, we are ready to support the negotiation process. Georgia has always played a very positive role in promoting peace in the region, and we stand ready to continue fulfilling that role,” he said. “We are highly motivated to further deepen the strategic partnership, cooperation, and friendship between Georgia and Azerbaijan. I thank the Azerbaijani authorities for their strong support of Georgia. Our relations are excellent, and we are determined to make them even stronger,” he added.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum is a significant international event designed to foster dialogue among global leaders and diplomats. The forum is held annually in the Turkish resort city of Antalya. It is organised under the patronage of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish Foreign Ministry. This year’s forum gathered over 20 heads of state and government, more than 50 foreign ministers, over 70 ministers, and nearly 60 senior representatives from international organisations. In total, the event saw approximately 4,000 participants, including students. More than 50 sessions, covering a diverse array of topics, were held. The sessions included regional issues in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America, as well as pressing global challenges such as climate change, counterterrorism, humanitarian aid, digitisation, food security, and artificial intelligence.
