German chancellor arrives in Türkiye for bilateral talks with President Erdoğan PHOTO

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has arrived in Türkiye on an official visit, Anadolu Agency reports.

A ceremony welcoming the high-ranking guest took place at the presidential complex in Ankara, where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan officially received Chancellor Merz.

Following the leaders taking their places at the ceremonial platform, the national anthems of both countries were played. Chancellor Merz also greeted the honor guard.

The leaders posed for a commemorative photo in front of the national flags of Germany and Türkiye before beginning their bilateral meeting.

After the talks, President Erdoğan and Chancellor Merz are scheduled to hold a joint press conference. An official dinner with both leaders will follow.
