Iranian president hails US-Iran memorandum as "historic document"
On June 18, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian described a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and US as a "historic document," saying it demonstrated Tehran's commitment to peace based on mutual respect.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian said the agreement sent a message from a "powerful Iran" and underscored the country's willingness to engage constructively while safeguarding its national interests.

"This is a historic document and a message from a powerful Iran: peace will be achieved through mutual respect," Pezeshkian wrote.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to and faithful to global peace while preserving its dignity, independence, as well as regional progress and cooperation."
The Iranian president also published what he said was a scanned copy of the memorandum, revealing key provisions of the agreement.
