Italian energy firm to contribute to Azerbaijan's energy security
CEO and General Manager of the Italian energy company Ansaldo Energia, Giuseppe Marino, has pledged to make a great contribution to Azerbaijan's energy security.
He made the relevant statement at the groundbreaking ceremony for the thermal power plant in Azerbaijan’s Mingachevir region, Azertag reports.
"Thanks to the agreement we signed today, working together with Azerenerji, we will make an even greater contribution to Azerbaijan's energy security. This contribution will be made by Ansaldo Energia with its advanced technology".
Stressing that the company has already opened a representative office in Baku, Marino said that this will expand cooperation between Azerbaijani specialists and their Italian counterparts.
"As Mr President Ilham Aliyev noted, the new plant will save about 800 million cubic metres of natural gas. This will ensure the transition to clean energy. This is a far-sighted policy, your plans are clear to us, and we are always seeking to further improve power generation through the innovations that are being introduced. But we should also not forget about renewable energy sources. Of course, we would like to invest in this area as well," Marino noted.
He said that four turbines will be installed in Mingachevir, which have already been tested: "A large number of new jobs will be created here. Our cooperation with our Azerbaijani partners will be an important contribution to the country's energy policy. In this way, we will continue to provide sustainable support for the energy security of our countries," he concluded.
