Kazakh university degrees to be recognised across Asia
Kazakhstan has ratified an international agreement that will facilitate the recognition of its higher education diplomas across Asia-Pacific countries, following the signing of the relevant law by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to an official statement, the president signed the law ratifying the Asia-Pacific Regional Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education, also known as the Tokyo Convention, Caliber.Az reports.
The convention is designed to promote academic mobility and streamline the recognition of higher education qualifications and professional credentials among participating countries. These include major education and labour markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.
Under the agreement, qualifications obtained in Kazakhstan will be assessed through fair and transparent procedures, making it easier for graduates of Kazakhstani universities to pursue further education or employment abroad. At the same time, the convention is expected to simplify the process for foreign specialists seeking to study or work in Kazakhstan.
