Kazakhstan plans to extend fuel export restrictions through 2026
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has prepared a draft order proposing the extension of temporary restrictions on the export of petroleum products, according to Kazakh media.
Under the proposed measures, a ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and several other petroleum products by road transport would remain in effect from May 21 to November 21, 2026. The restrictions would also apply to shipments to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. In addition, limitations on the export of certain types of fuel by rail transport are set to remain in place.
The draft further предусматривает extending, from July 1 to December 31, 2026, the ban on exports outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union of a range of petroleum products, including light distillates, aviation kerosene, gas oils, toluene, xylene, and bitumen.
The Ministry of Energy stated that the extension of these measures is intended to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market and to prevent potential shortages.
