Kremlin warns of response if US resumes nuclear testing
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has warned that Moscow would “act accordingly” if the United States resumes nuclear testing.
Speaking to reporters, Peskov said Russia would continue “special military operation," what Moscow calls its invasion of Ukraine, if there were no prospects for negotiations. He claimed that Kyiv’s earlier announcement ending talks had formalised what he described as Ukraine’s "unwillingness to maintain contact" with Moscow, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Peskov expressed regret over Ukraine’s refusal to continue dialogue, saying that sooner or later Kyiv would have to return to negotiations, but from what he predicted would be a weaker position.
Responding to remarks by US Senator Marco Rubio, who recently said Russia did not want peace, Peskov said the Kremlin “strongly disagreed” with that view. He insisted that Russia seeks peace and remains open to resolving the war in Ukraine through political and diplomatic means.
