Media: All 20 aboard Turkish C-130 killed in Georgia plane crash VIDEO
All 20 people on board a Turkish military transport aircraft C-130 have died after the plane crashed in mountainous terrain in Georgia, near the border with Azerbaijan.
According to AnewZ correspondent Nini Nikoleishvili, the aircraft took off from Ganja Airport in Azerbaijan at 14:19 local time and disappeared from radar shortly thereafter without issuing a distress signal. Wreckage was later discovered by local residents on steep slopes near Kholagiri Monastery.
Search and rescue teams, including helicopters, have been operating in challenging conditions and poor visibility. Georgian authorities have launched a criminal investigation into possible violations of aviation safety. The investigation is being conducted in coordination with Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
The incident was confirmed by the Telegram channel İctimaiTV, which reported that the plane was en route from Azerbaijan to Türkiye at the time of the crash.
Authorities continue to examine the circumstances and causes of the accident, while rescue and investigative teams remain at the scene.
