MFA: Margara checkpoint on Armenian-Turkish border ready for service
Margara checkpoint on the Armenian-Turkish border is ready for service, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in response to a media query.
"Margara border checkpoint is outfited for operation, and the Armenian side expects positive signals from Türkiye on opening the border for citizens of third countries, also for persons with diplomatic passports," the ministry said, per Caliber.Az.
In mid-November, the head of Armenia's State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan said that the construction of the new checkpoint is nearing completion.
Prior to that, in response to a media inquiry, the State Revenue Committee said that the building and structures necessary for customs control and supervision have been erected. Works on interior finishing, installation of engineering communications and landscaping are underway.
