Moscow threatens escalation as Western military aid to Ukraine grows

Russia's Ministry of Defence has warned that continued Western military assistance to Ukraine will prompt Moscow to intensify its military operations, vowing a stronger response to what it described as attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure.

In a statement, the ministry said the growing supply of Western-made weapons to Kyiv would not go unanswered.

"The determination of Kyiv's Western sponsors to increase supplies of drones, missiles, and ammunition manufactured in European countries and the United Kingdom, as well as to use [Volodymyr] Zelenskyy to deploy them against civilian targets in Russia, will not go unnoticed and will be met with a proportional increase in the number and power of retaliatory strikes by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation against the territory of Ukraine," the statement said.
