MP: Türkiye always to stand by Azerbaijan

Turkish Parliament’s Bureau Secretary Bayram Ozcelik has said that Türkiye will always stand by Azerbaijan, this is an unchangeable state policy.

He made the remarks at an Azerbaijani parliament’s special meeting on the occasion of the 100th birthday anniversary of great leader Heydar Aliyev on May 16, Report informs.

According to him, unshakable solidarity remains between Azerbaijan and Turkey: “It was the Azerbaijani state and people who came to the rescue during the earthquake [in February 2023]. We will never forget this."

Ozcelik noted that without Heydar Aliyev, that period would have been difficult for the countries of the region: “The great leader was an important figure not only for Azerbaijan but also for Türkiye. Today, various cities in Türkiye have streets and schools named after him. This is a vivid example of respect for Heydar Aliyev. Türkiye will always be close to Azerbaijan. This is an unchangeable state policy.”
