New Russian owner of McDonald's reveals further reopening plans
Club-Hotel Company owner Alexander Govor, who bought the Russian chain of McDonald's, plans to reopen all fast-food restaurants within two months.
"Tomorrow we are opening 15 restaurants, then we are opening up to 50 restaurants literally within a week in Moscow and the Moscow region, and every week we will open from 50 to 80 restaurants,” Russia-based news service TASS quotes Govor as saying.
He noted that all 850 restaurants are planned to open "in one and a half -two months".
After the opening of the fast-food branches in Moscow and the Moscow region, restaurants in the Far East, Siberia and the Urals will resume work.
The American McDonald's Corp decided in May to sell its business to Govor. He was a franchisee partner of the company and since 2015 has managed 25 restaurants in Siberia.
The restaurants of the chain will start to open on June 12.
