Over 160 flights delayed at Moscow airports amid takeoff and landing restrictions
As many as 162 flights have been delayed at three Moscow airports due to restrictions on takeoff and landing.
According to the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor’s Office, 71 flights are delayed at Domodedovo, 72 at Sheremetyevo, and 19 at Vnukovo, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The Moscow Prosecutor’s Office for Supervision of the Execution of Laws on Air and Water Transport has been tasked with monitoring the situation to ensure the rights of air passengers are protected and that they receive appropriate services.
Flight delays at Moscow’s airports are not uncommon, particularly during periods of heightened security or adverse weather conditions. In recent months, Russian airports—especially in the capital—have faced recurring disruptions due to increased drone activity and temporary airspace closures linked to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Authorities often impose flight restrictions as precautionary measures when unidentified aerial objects are detected near major transport hubs.
