During an address to the federal cabinet, Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, China, Azerbaijan, and other regional partners for supporting Islamabad’s efforts to mediate a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Pakistani outlet Arab News Pakistan.
“I would like to thank President Trump, who took a pause on my request, for two weeks, which you can call a temporary ceasefire,” Sharif said. “I would like to thank all the Gulf countries, which includes firstly Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Turkiye, Indonesia, Egypt, Azerbaijan and the UAE. I am thankful to our great Himalayan friend China. I am thankful to all of them from the bottom of my heart.”

He also praised Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership for their efforts in securing the ceasefire between the two sides.
“In my entire career, I have not seen such coordination, self-less effort between the political and military hierarchy in my 40-eyar-career,” Sharif added.
The Pakistani Prime Minister noted that a U.S. delegation will arrive in Islamabad on Friday for talks, and an Iranian delegation will also participate in the discussions.
