Presidential aide: Azerbaijan brings the entire world to the South Caucasus

Azerbaijan is set to take a more active role in addressing global challenges, according to Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration.

In the post on the social media platform X, Hajiyev highlighted that Azerbaijan will host the UN World Urban Forum in 2026, Caliber.Az reports.

“As a follow up to COP29 Azerbaijan will host World Environment Day in 2026 with UNEP (UN Environment Programme - ed.), along with the World Urban Forum with UN Habitat (UN Human Settlements Programme - ed.). Azerbaijan will continue to play more active role in addressing global issues as it switches to more global foreign policy since the end of conflict and brings the entire world to the South Caucasus,” the post reads.
