Provocations by illegal Armenian armed groups growing in Garabagh Azerbaijani defence chief briefs new Russian peacekeeper’s commander
Azerbaijani Defence Minister Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov has said that the number of provocations by the illegal Armenian armed groups is growing in Garabagh, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily stationed.
Hasanov made the remarks while receiving an incoming commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent Maj-Gen Kirill Kulakov, who was presented by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation, Army General Oleg Salyukov on September 12, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
Welcoming the guests, Hasanov noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia is based on friendly relations and mutual trust.
Speaking about the operational conditions in the Karabakh economic region, the Azerbaijani defence minister emphasized the recent increase in the number of provocations committed by illegal Armenian armed groups.
In turn, Salyukov, expressed his gratitude for the sincere reception, noting that the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are based on historical roots, and the countries are strategic partners.
