Reconstruction of Yarag-Kazmalar checkpoint to end in 2023 – Russian deputy premier
The reconstruction of the Yarag-Kazmalar checkpoint on the Russian-Azerbaijani border will be completed throughout 2023.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk announced this at the International Customs Forum in Moscow, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
“This year we are also completing the reconstruction of the Yarag-Kazmalar checkpoint on our border with Azerbaijan,” Overchuk said in response to a question from reporters.
The Russian deputy prime minister says there have been no queues on the border with Azerbaijan since 2022 after the reconstruction of another checkpoint on the Russian-Azerbaijani border - Tagirkent-Kazmalar. Overchuk also highly appreciated the results of the reconstruction of the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint on the border with Georgia, thanks to which its throughput capacity has significantly increased.
