Remains of Armenians killed in 44-day war yet to be buried Minister's statement
The remains of Armenian soldiers killed in the 44-day war have not been buried yet.
Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan made the remarks in an interview with reporters, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
She did not say how many there were, citing the fact that the subject is "very sensitive and painful".
"Unfortunately, the relatives of the victims do not recognise the DNA results, the examination of which is indisputable: in many cases, they were re-examined abroad, and the result was the same," the minister said.
In February, the adviser to the defence minister, Maj Gen Vardan Avetisyan, stated that the morgues of the republic contain the identified remains of more than 80 servicemen. According to him, they must be buried in a special area in the Yerablur military pantheon.
