Russia, Kazakhstan deepen strategic ties, explore rare earths, gas expansion
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed prospects for deepening collaboration in the extraction of rare earth metals, signaling a potential expansion of economic and industrial ties between the two nations.
“Plans to intensify cooperation in the chemical industry and the extraction of rare earth metals are being discussed,” President Putin stated following their bilateral talks, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted that Gazprom plans to expand gas supplies to Kazakhstan’s northern and eastern regions.
On November 11, President Tokayev arrived in Moscow for an official visit. That same day, the two leaders held an informal meeting at the Kremlin, during which the Kazakh president emphasized that there is currently no sector in which Moscow and Astana do not engage or collaborate.
The following day, November 12, Putin and Tokayev conducted formal talks, with the Russian president describing Russia and Kazakhstan as closest partners and allies. He underscored that the two nations are effectively advancing the development of their bilateral relationship across all spheres.
